Now Let’s Really Plan This Out

Location: Filming at the beach would provide stunning visuals with the backdrop of the ocean and sand. The players could be shown diving and rolling on the soft sand to make intense plays. A park would offer a more relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, with trees and greenery in the background, providing a contrast to the fierce competition on the court. Filming at the gym would allow for intense close-ups of the players as they sweat and strain to make every move count, with the sounds of the game echoing off the walls. The contrast of these three locations would add to the dynamic storytelling of a volleyball movie.

Participants: As the director and editor, I will be responsible for overseeing the creative vision and execution of the film. I will work closely with the other members of the production team to plan out the visual style, character development, and overall tone of the film. I will also work with the actors to ensure they understand their roles and deliver the best performances possible. I will be responsible for piecing together all the footage shot during production. He will work closely with the director to ensure the film follows the desired narrative and stays within the desired runtime. He will also be responsible for incorporating visual effects, sound design, and music to enhance the overall impact of the film.

Randy Sweeting,  as the cinematographer, will be responsible for the visual aspects of the film. He will work closely with the director to plan out the camera shots, lighting, and overall visual style of the movie. He will also oversee the camera crew and ensure they capture all the necessary footage to bring the story to life.

Aidan Jones and Joshua Newell will be the main actors and will be seen in the majority of the scenes. Everyone will have some contribution in every aspect of the film but these will essentially be everyone's roles

Together, we will work collaboratively to bring the vision of this volleyball movie to life. We will communicate regularly, problem-solve any challenges that arise, and support one another throughout the production process. Our collective skills and expertise will ensure the film is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

Health: As high school students, it is important for us to prioritize their health and well-being during the filming process. We may need to adjust their schedules to ensure they have enough time for rest, exercise, and healthy eating. We could pack healthy snacks and meals for long days on set, and prioritize getting enough sleep each night. We could also encourage one another to take breaks and practice self-care to avoid burnout and maintain our focus and productivity throughout the filming process.

Schedule: Having limited filming hours on Saturdays and Sundays could pose a challenge in capturing all the necessary shots for a volleyball movie. We would have to be efficient in our planning and make the most out of the available time. We may need to prioritize key scenes that must be shot during these hours, and potentially schedule reshoots if needed. The cast and crew would need to be flexible and willing to work within these limitations to ensure the project is completed on time.

Our Pitches

The group has several ideas on what we should make our video about. We have narrowed them down to three in order to make the decision easier for ourselves.      The first pitch surrounds two high athletes that play volleyball. The two are inseparable, but different in nature. One was always extremely passionate about volleyball, determined to improve and become a major player of the sport. For convenience, we will call this character Character A (or CA for short). The other character was never very interested in sports and was more intrigued by online endeavors (phones, gaming, etc.). This character will be called Character B (or CB). One day, CB is sitting on the stairs on his phone when CA is going down them. CA drops the volleyball in his hand, yelling for CB to watch out as it moves towards him. CB is caught off guard, dropping his phone as the yelling startles him. Miraculously, he is able to pass the ball back to CA perfectly and catch his ...

The Conference Call

Unfortunately, the group could not come together to film this week. This was extremely frustrating because it set us behind for a few days. Many of us were working, and when we weren't, others had obligations they couldn't miss. Despite this minor setback, we still made time to talk about our film. The group decided to do a phone call to work out the details of the project. Again, we were focusing on the opening. We are unfamiliar with the formatting of the intro. As a result, we all had many different ideas on how we should execute it. All of us provided input on how we could change certain scenes and dialogue to accommodate the opening. Though small decisions like the font have not been ironed out, we have a clear idea of how we want the names and titles to be displayed. This may require some of the scenes to be reshot, but we are perfectly fine with making this adjustment to get the best product we can.      The group agreed that we should im...

All About Me

My favorite things are art and pop culture. As a result, many of my hobbies are related to both of those things.       The main things I enjoy are music and fashion, which conjoin the two aforementioned topics. My favorite brands are Mugler, Maison Margiela, and Diesel. I spend a lot of my time watching fashion shows from these brands. A dream of mine is to become a stylist or creative director of some kind. I also enjoy thrifting clothes and looking for vintage pieces online. My favorite periods for fashion and general inspiration are the 90s and 2000s.       As a result, I often reference iconic moments in those eras in my art. I make a lot of different kinds of art. I have been painting and drawing traditionally for most of my life. Recently, however, I’ve been drawing digitally more often. I prefer it because you have an endless amount of colors and brushes you can use and you can correct mistakes easily.  Some ...
