Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

For our first major assignment, we're working on a commercial. To get the job done I picked two of my good friends that I know can produce good work - Joshua Newell and Aidan Jones. Both are amazing at conjuring up creative ideas.

Joshua will be mainly handling the acting and props for the commercial. He's perfect for conveying the kind of emotion for this project. As my brother, I know he can handle a heavy workload and still create excellent work.

My other teammate, Aidan, is just as competent. A creative and great student, Aidan will be handling most of the project's directing. Aidan is a big thinker who can get the job done efficiently. His perspective will add an invaluable quality to our work.

Lastly, I will be doing all of the major editing for the project. I have some experience with free programs and am excited to bring that to the project. I will also be aiding in the directing and shooting of the commercial. As the editor of the project, I plan to incorporate some interesting things with diegetic and non-diegetic sound.
Our combined efforts will produce the writing, costuming, and research required for the commercial. We all have a common interest in music and listen to it every day. As a result, we want to do a commercial related to that. Depending on what we can do, we are hoping to make an ad for a streaming service or headphone company. Nothing is set in stone right now, but we have many different ideas. While we have not started the research process yet, the knowledge we already have about different companies is already narrowing down our choice.

Throughout the full title sequence, this was a recurring theme. 3.  What connotations do these images carry?   They have a dark background with a red and a blue line racing while the names are being displayed. It symbolizes the race between Ford and Ferrari, which is the movie"s main plot and title: Ford v Ferrari. This does a great job of foreshadowing the theme of the movie. 4. Never Judge a Book By Its Cover, But a Movie is a Different Story

Now that the general concept of our project has been worked out, the group set our sights on what the opening sequence should be like. The opening sequence needs to follow the guidelines of the genre, so I searched for several examples that we could follow. Though it was not easy to find good examples, I came across two websites that supplied me with several opening sequences that we could look like.          The first site I came across was Art of the Title. Art of the Title is a website specifically made to house title sequences. It has title sequences from movies dating as far back as the 1930s. There is a page that shows all the title sequences of recently popular shows and films. Another page shows several directors and the clips that they have produced. These organizational methods made it easy to watch recently made title sequences. The title sequences available on Art of the Title made a pattern very clear to me. Directors usually have their own thing that differentiates

A Slight Detour

The current weather has presented a major obstacle in our filming process. Because the entirety of the work is set outdoors at a sunny volleyball field, the constant rain has made it impossible to get new footage. To work in these conditions, we may have to scrap the entire draft we currently have so that all the scenes match. Alternatively, we would have to rewrite the ending to provide an explanation for the setting. Seeing as half the project is already completely edited, I'm much more inclined to choose the second option. The entire situation is extremely disappointing considering that this project is arguably one of our better works.  Regardless of the obstacles we're currently facing, we will take any opportunity we can to film today.      The footage that we currently have was not easy to edit. Without any cuts, it was already too close to the required time. After some cutting and arrangement, the opening and training montage sat at one minute and 25 seconds. Afte
