Our Pitches

The group has several ideas on what we should make our video about. We have narrowed them down to three in order to make the decision easier for ourselves.

The first pitch surrounds two high athletes that play volleyball. The two are inseparable, but different in nature. One was always extremely passionate about volleyball, determined to improve and become a major player of the sport. For convenience, we will call this character Character A (or CA for short). The other character was never very interested in sports and was more intrigued by online endeavors (phones, gaming, etc.). This character will be called Character B (or CB). One day, CB is sitting on the stairs on his phone when CA is going down them. CA drops the volleyball in his hand, yelling for CB to watch out as it moves towards him. CB is caught off guard, dropping his phone as the yelling startles him. Miraculously, he is able to pass the ball back to CA perfectly and catch his phone. CA is surprised by CB’s skill and asks if he is in a volleyball club. CB says no, and this shocks CA. CA then invites CB to join him, to which CB responds that he would play on his team if he is paid. CA takes CB up on his offer, and they embark on a journey of friendship and competition as they prepare for a major championship. This pitch is mainly rooted in comedy, with some tropes from sports movies as well.

The second pitch we came up with is based on two characters who’d come from very different backgrounds. They are brought together by a small encounter at a store, and this leads to them falling in love. Unfortunately, their romance is cut short by several events. Distance, social pressures, and their feelings divide the two, but they fight through it to come together as a couple. This pitch will involve a heart warming romance with both high and low emotional points.

Our final pitch is also based on a couple. However, this one is more of a suspense rather than a romance. It centers around Characters 1 and 2 (named for convenience), who have been together for a few years. Character 1 is a hard working woman who is career focused while Character 2 just can’t seem to reach the same success as her. C2 is jealous of his spouse and embarrassed of the fact that he has not accomplished as much as her. This sours the relationship and pushes him to have an affair (which will most likely be shown in the first few scenes of the film to build up to C1’s storyline). C1 finds out about this affair and decide to take matters into her own hands - killing him socially and mentally. The video will follow C1’s journey on enacting her revenge which turns on its head when the two characters finally confront each other.

Each pitch was written in order of the likelihood of us creating it. The first pitch is the one we are most likely to use. This is because we have to volleyball players in our group. The second pitch will most likely be our back up pitch, as it is the easiest. The final pitch, however, would be a really fun challenge for the group to undertake.

The Conference Call

Unfortunately, the group could not come together to film this week. This was extremely frustrating because it set us behind for a few days. Many of us were working, and when we weren't, others had obligations they couldn't miss. Despite this minor setback, we still made time to talk about our film. The group decided to do a phone call to work out the details of the project. Again, we were focusing on the opening. We are unfamiliar with the formatting of the intro. As a result, we all had many different ideas on how we should execute it. All of us provided input on how we could change certain scenes and dialogue to accommodate the opening. Though small decisions like the font have not been ironed out, we have a clear idea of how we want the names and titles to be displayed. This may require some of the scenes to be reshot, but we are perfectly fine with making this adjustment to get the best product we can.      The group agreed that we should implement landscape shots to

It is implied that he might not be a superstar as of yet which is further supported by the many ima
